Oncology Masterclass

This past Sunday, students at the Debate Chamber Oncology Masterclass were introduced to the development of cancer, from benign to malignant to metastasis and also discussed the prevention of cancer. The group then explored the causes of cancer and the science behind clonal expansion, the staging of cancer and the various treatments in oncology. In the latter part of the Masterclass, students tried their hand at presenting oncology cases to their fellow ‘consultants’, developing their own differential diagnoses and their conclusions from various test results to develop a prognosis and recommendation for treatment.
