Bursary Application – Student Form

Debate Chamber offers a number of  bursaries for each event for those students who would be financially unable to attend without assistance.

If you would like to apply for a bursary you will need to complete the form below, outlining why you would benefit from the course and your financial circumstances, and ask a referee from your school to complete the referee’s form – which you can find here.

Bursaries will be allocated on the nearest working day to two weeks before the event is due to begin. In order to for you to be considered for a bursary you and your referee must both complete the forms before that date. For example, if an event begins on a Saturday, then the bursaries will be decided two weeks and one day before the event begins. If an event begins on a Sunday, then bursaries will be decided and applicants informed 13 days before the event begins. It is your responsibility to make sure that your referee has completed the form.

We will let you know whether or not you have been awarded a bursary two weeks before the event is due to begin. In the event of a bursary being awarded, you will then have five days to pay the remaining balance, or your place may be reallocated to another student.
