Decisions taken in Europe have an impact on all of our lives, but the workings of the EU are still unfamiliar to most. In this activity students will represent member states or members of key institutions such as the European Court of Justice, European Parliament and European Commission as they take decisions on matters from workers’ rights to the environment.

Topics covered include:

  • Origins and aims of the European Union
  • How EU institutions interact and where the power lies
  • Businesses, workers’ rights, and fair competition
  • Influence of member states
