Summer Law School
The Summer Law School will give young people interested in pursuing law as a career or at university an in-depth introduction to every aspect of the legal world.
The five day course will include lectures, seminars, tours of the Inns and Courts, a debate and a full mock trial. Participants will have the opportunity to have debate legal issues in depth with expert tutors, quiz successful practitioners about life as a barrister or solicitor, and learn about degree courses with law graduates from top universities.

Highlights will include:
Learn about the theory and practice of the law:
- Classes on Criminal Law, Jurisprudence, Human Rights and International Law
- Formal debates on current legal controversies
- Seminars on key aspects of civil law (21st-25th August only)
- Contract negotiation workshop (21st-25th August only)
Take part in a Mock Trial:
- Prepare the case for prosecution or defense in teams from your briefing papers
- Learn about court procedure and laws governing relevant offences
- Practice making speeches and cross-examining witnesses in an advocacy workshop with barristers
- Plead your case in front of judge and jury in a realistic Crown Court trial, complete with court dress of wig and gown

- LNAT workshop
Experience legal London:
- Guided tours taking in the Inns of Court and Royal Courts of Justice (28th July-1st August only)

Book a Place
The cost of the Summer Law School is £350 per student for five days. Debate Chamber offers a limited number of full and partial bursaries to students who could not otherwise afford to attend. Please note that accommodation is not included, and must be arranged independently if required. Bookings for any event may be made by individual students or parents or through the school.
