Maths Summer School

28th – 30th August 2012 (3 days) • University of London Union • Ages 15-18*

*The Maths Summer School is suitable for students who have completed AS Level Maths, or reached a similar standard in other qualification structures.

On this three day Maths Summer School students will be introduced to both pure and applied maths and they will examine numerous mathematical problems from both calculus and algebra. The course content includes materials that students are unlikely to encounter substantively at school but that is taught in first year university programs. As such the Summer School is ideal for students considering studying mathematics or related disciplines at university. This course will not only give students a very realistic idea of what mathematical study will be like at a university level but it will also prepare students to be able to confidently undertake such study. Our tutors will also suggest further reading for students who wish to pursue deeper study in this area. Overall students will gain a rounded educational experience, heightening their skills of logic and deepening their understanding and appreciation of mathematics.

The price of the Maths Summer School is £210 per student for three days. Please note that accommodation is not included, and must be arranged independently if required.
